As the title suggests, this walk is pretty much divided into 2 different landscapes. The beginning and the end are on lovely paths and tracks in the aromatic Canarian pine forest with fabulous views appearing through breaks in the tree line.
The volcanic section is a traverse around the volcano Montañas Negras, which erupted in 1706 and was the biggest eruption known in terms of emitted lava.
Although challenging at times under foot due to picón, the backdrop of Mount Teide makes this all a very enjoyable walk.
