We ascend the exhilarating north face offering superb views down into the crater of Las Caňadas. On the summit we discover a ruined building which was one of the first high altitude observatories to be built in the world to view the stars.
We descend Guajara’s back where the southern coast unravels in a haze below. It is simply stunning. This hike is only 10km but hard going due to the steep terrain.
