Walk Description

Guajara is Tenerife’s 3rd highest peak and named after the lovelorn princess that committed suicide near the summit because her lover Tinguaro married someone else.

Rising to 2,718 metres (9,000 feet) this impressive turret-shaped mountain has sheer cliffs on 3 sides.

We ascend the exhilarating north face offering superb views down into the crater of Las Caňadas. On the summit we discover a ruined building which was one of the first high altitude observatories to be built in the world to view the stars.

We descend Guajara’s back where the southern coast unravels in a haze below. It is simply stunning. This hike is only 10km but hard going due to the steep terrain.

Transfers: Included to and from your hotel or resort in the south of Tenerife.
