This walk is graded as moderate and not easy because there are short steep sections. One of the most dramatic endemic flowers the island is famous for are the giant Tajinastes in bloom between May and June.
These spectacular flowers are 2m high with a conical spike and impressive red/maroon flowers. There is also a rarer blue and white variety.
These flowers grow in profusion in the National Park but only at 2,000m + altitude.
This walk should be at the top of the must-see list of everyone who visits Tenerife. The walk also offers a unique landscape of craters, volcanoes and rivers of petrified lava, surrounding the impressive silhouette of Teide Volcano that stands at 3,718m above sea level.
